FMS Newsletter: Week of September 20, 2026

Dear Fernwood Families, 

What a fun, productive week we had at Fernwood! From hands-on group projects to lively classroom discussions, our students were totally locked in and working hard all week. We wrapped things up on Friday with a school-wide pep rally! Seeing everyone in their class colors cheering, and showing off their school spirit together was awesome!

As we head into October, we have so many great things on the horizon. We'll be kicking off our Boosterthon, participating in Red Ribbon Week activities, and so much more. Keep an eye out for more details coming your way soon!

Thank you for everything you do at home to support our school community. I hope you all have a relaxing, enjoyable weekend, and we'll see everyone back bright and early on Monday!

Students in Mrs. Dilks’ 6th Grade Spanish classes celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by researching an influential Hispanic figures and learning about their accomplishments, cultural impact, and country of heritage. Students then brought their research to life by creatively decorating a tissue box to showcase what they learned with a presentation in class. The results were amazing! We are so proud of their creativity, effort, and enthusiasm! 🎉

Ms. Angelucci’s ML English classes went on a theme-hunting adventure, using different reading passages hidden around the classroom to uncover and identify the theme of each story.

Mrs. Richardson’s READ 180 classes put their vocabulary skills to the test with a Pop Dart Vocabulary Review! Students recalled vocabulary from previous Getting Started lessons, and each correct definition earned them a chance to take a shot at the Pop Dart board. A special shout-out to Ashton Moncrieffe, whose precision paid off when he hit CHIPS, the hardest target on the board! Way to combine learning, teamwork, and a little friendly competition! 

Shrek Jr. is currently under way! Come visit Duloc and all the fairytale creatures!
