Principal's Message

Principal's Message

Dear Fernwood Families,

We are starting to hit that sweet spot where the morning routines feel natural, the hallways are full of confident energy, and our students are genuinely finding their groove.

It was great walking through classrooms this week and seeing that momentum in action. Our students jumped right into some fantastic hands-on learning, from high-energy math competitions to creative design challenges that had teams working together and being creative problem solvers.

This kind of curiosity and willingness to tackle problems sets the tone for everything we do here. Thank you for all you do at home to help them show up ready, rested, and eager to learn every day.

I hope you all have a restful, wonderful long weekend!

Sincerely,

Frank Locantora

¡Ordena la conversación!

8th grade Fundamentals students worked collaboratively in small groups to complete a fun conversation puzzle. Each group received pieces of a Spanish conversation and had to work together to put them in the correct order. This engaging activity allowed students to practice their communication skills, reinforce vocabulary, and work together to build a complete conversation.

Free Books To Enjoy

Mrs. Garofalo, our Reading Specialist, has generously created a space in the cafeteria where students and teachers can take books to enjoy at home or in the classrooms.  The Free Book table is stocked with titles that cover a variety of fiction and non-fiction in every genre and students are encouraged to take a look, take a book, and spark their love of reading.
